A Thrilling Night of Action in Corpus Christi as AEW Delivers
Corpus Christi, Texas - The American Bank Center played host to a pulsating night of professional wrestling as All Elite Wrestling (AEW) brought its brand of high-flying action to the Gulf Coast. The December 18th TV show featured a stacked card that left fans on the edge of their seats from start to finish.
The evening kicked off with a tag team showdown between The Lucha Brothers (Pentagon Jr. and Rey Fenix) and Adam Page and Kenny Omega. This was an instant classic, with all four competitors giving it their all in a 17:48 thrill ride. Pentagon Jr.'s incredible athleticism and Fenix's quickness proved too much for the All Elite duo, as The Lucha Brothers secured the win.
Next up were Cody and Darby Allin, who took on The Butcher And The Blade (The Blade and The Butcher) in another tag team contest. This match was a hard-hitting affair, with both teams trading blows and showing no signs of surrender. In the end, Cody's power and Allin's agility proved too much for their opponents, as they emerged victorious in 10:47.
Awesome Kong made quick work of Miranda Alize in the first singles match of the night, finishing her off in a mere 46 seconds with the awesome-looking Implant Buster. It was a dominant performance from the AEW Women's World Champion, who continues to prove herself as one of the most formidable competitors in the company.
In a non-title, ten-minute time limit draw, Chris Jericho faced Jungle Boy in what many expected to be an evenly matched contest. The two men went toe-to-toe for 10:00, with neither able to gain a decisive advantage. As the clock expired, the referee was forced to declare the match a draw - a fitting result given the evenness of the bout.
The AEW Women's World Title #1 Contendership Match saw Kris Statlander take on Dr. Britt Baker DMD for the right to challenge Awesome Kong. This was an intense, hard-hitting affair, with both women giving it their all in a 9:34 contest. In the end, Statlander emerged victorious, setting up a potential showdown with Kong in the future.
The main event saw SCU (Frankie Kazarian and Scorpio Sky) put their AEW World Tag Team Titles on the line against The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson). This was an incredible match, featuring some of the best tag team wrestling seen anywhere. In the end, it was SCU who retained their titles in 10:44, surviving a late rally from their opponents to emerge victorious.
In conclusion, AEW's December 18th TV show was an absolute thrill ride from start to finish. With so many great matches and performances, fans were treated to a night of non-stop action that will be remembered for weeks to come. As we look ahead to the new year, one thing is certain - All Elite Wrestling is here to stay, and we can't wait to see what they have in store for us next.
