The Crescent City Showstopper: AEW Delivers Thrills in New Orleans

April 13, 2022, will go down as a night to remember in the Big Easy. All Elite Wrestling brought its high-flying, hard-hitting brand of professional wrestling to the UNO Lakefront Arena in New Orleans, Louisiana, and the packed house was treated to an unforgettable evening of action.

The card got off to a scorching start with CM Punk taking on Penta Oscuro in a singles match. The "Best in the World" looked like his old self, using his quickness and cunning to outmaneuver the high-flying Penta. The two exchanged near-falls and show-stopping moves before Punk finally put Penta away with a devastating GTS. A well-worked 13:38 match that set the tone for the rest of the night.

Next up, the AEW World Tag Team Champions, Jurassic Express (Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus), put their titles on the line against reDRagon (Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Reilly). This one was a barnburner from start to finish. The teams traded moves and near-falls, with both sides showing incredible teamwork and individual skill. In the end, it was Jurassic Express who emerged victorious, retaining their tag team titles in a thrilling 13:45 match.

In a rare appearance on AEW television, Shawn Dean made a statement by defeating MJF in just 4:07. Dean's underdog heroics were met with thunderous applause from the crowd, and he proved that he belongs among the top contenders in this promotion.

The Jericho Appreciation Society (Chris Jericho, Daniel Garcia, and Jake Hager) looked to continue their winning ways against Eddie Kingston, Ortiz, and Santana in a six-man tag team match. This one was all about the personalities involved – Jericho's cunning and experience proved too much for his opponents, as JAS picked up the win in 11:46.

Marina Shafir made quick work of Skye Blue, submitting her opponent in just 2:24. The crowd may not have been familiar with Shafir before this match, but they're sure to remember her impressive showing now.

The main event tag team match saw Team Taz (Powerhouse Hobbs and Ricky Starks) take on Keith Lee and Swerve Strickland. This one was all about the power and strength of the competitors involved – Hobbs and Starks used their muscle to overpower their opponents, securing the win in 12:32.

Finally, Samoa Joe put his ROH World Television Title on the line against Minoru Suzuki. This one was a slow-burning, technical masterpiece that had the crowd completely enthralled. In the end, it was Joe who emerged victorious, retaining his title in a well-worked 15-minute affair.

All told, AEW delivered an absolute scorcher of a show in New Orleans. With so many talented competitors on display, it's no wonder this event will be remembered as one of the best cards of the year. And for Zohash.com readers, we're honored to bring you all the action and excitement from the Crescent City.
