WRESTLING JOURNALISM AT ITS FINEST
September 19th, 2023 - Arthur Ashe Stadium, New York City, NY
All Elite Wrestling returned to the Big Apple for an electrifying night of professional wrestling, as the promotion brought its A-game to the packed Arthur Ashe Stadium. The sold-out crowd of 11,263 was treated to a thrilling card that featured some of the best in the business.
The opening contest saw Eddie Kingston put his NJPW STRONG Openweight Title on the line against Claudio Castagnoli. This one was a barnburner from start to finish, with both men giving it their all. In the end, Kingston's determination and skill paid off as he emerged victorious, retaining his title in a hard-fought contest.
Next up, Chris Jericho looked to continue his winning ways against Sammy Guevara. The two Superstars clashed in a singles match that was marked by its intensity and physicality. Despite being outgunned for much of the bout, Guevara refused to back down, but ultimately fell short at 15:14.
The All-Atlantic Title was on the line in the third contest, as Rey Fenix put his title reign on the line against Jon Moxley. This one had all the makings of a classic, with both men trading holds and counterholds. In the end, it was Fenix's speed and agility that proved to be the deciding factor, as he scored the win in an excellent match.
The first half of the evening closed out with Saraya challenging Toni Storm for the AEW Women's World Title. This one was a real showstopper, with both women giving their all in pursuit of championship glory. In the end, Saraya's determination and skill paid off as she scored the win in an impressive 8:53.
The main event saw MJF put his AEW World Title on the line against Samoa Joe. This one was a real heavyweight battle, with both men trading blows and looking to assert their dominance. In the end, it was MJF's cunning and guile that proved to be the deciding factor, as he emerged victorious in an excellent match that clocked in at 18:42.
As the evening drew to a close, the sold-out crowd at Arthur Ashe Stadium had witnessed something special - a night of professional wrestling that truly showcased the best in the business. All Elite Wrestling has once again proven itself to be a force to be reckoned with, and we can't wait to see what's in store for these talented Superstars next.
