Newark, New Jersey - The Prudential Center played host to All Elite Wrestling's (AEW) highly anticipated TV show on January 3rd, and the sold-out crowd of 5,924 was treated to a night of non-stop action. The event, taped for broadcast on January 4th, featured four matches that showcased the best of AEW's talented roster.

The Night Begins with a Bang

The evening kicked off with a high-energy Six-Man Tag Team Match pitting Mark Briscoe and The Hardys (Jeff Hardy and Matt Hardy) against Kip Sabian and The Butcher And The Blade (The Blade and The Butcher). In a match that saw plenty of aerial attacks and near-falls, the faces emerged victorious, with Mark Briscoe securing the pin on The Butcher in 11:13.

Tag Team Action

Next up were Kris Statlander and Willow Nightingale, who teamed up to take on Kennedi Hardcastle and Notorious Mimi. This one was all about the ladies, with Statlander and Nightingale's technical grappling giving them the edge they needed to secure a quick 2:35 victory.

Shida Shines

Hikaru Shida continued her winning streak by defeating Anna Jay in a singles match that saw both competitors give it their all. In the end, Shida's experience and skill proved too much for Jay, as she wrapped up the win in 9:13.

Pure Championship Thrills

The main event of the evening saw Wheeler Yuta challenge Komander for the ROH Pure Title. This one was a technical masterclass, with both competitors showcasing their skills on the mat. In the end, Yuta's submission prowess proved too much for Komander, as he forced him to tap out in 10:55 to retain his title.

A NIGHT TO REMEMBER

Overall, AEW's Newark show was an absolute thrill ride from start to finish. The talent on display was top-notch, and the crowd was fully invested throughout the evening. With this performance, it's clear that AEW is ready to take on all comers in 2024.
