A Thrilling Night of Action Unfolds at Van Andel Arena as AEW Brings the Noise to Grand Rapids

Grand Rapids, Michigan – August 5, 2022 – The sold-out crowd at the Van Andel Arena was treated to a night of unadulterated excitement and unpredictability as All Elite Wrestling (AEW) brought its brand of professional wrestling chaos to the city. With a stacked card featuring some of the promotion's top talent, the evening delivered on its promise of non-stop action.

The main event saw Jon Moxley face off against Mance Warner in an AEW Interim World Title Eliminator Match. In a contest that showcased both competitors' technical prowess and resilience, Moxley ultimately emerged victorious, submitting Warner via armbar at 11:40. The win cements the former WWE Champion's position as the top contender for the vacant interim world title.

In the opening bout of the evening, Japan's Konosuke Takeshita made a statement against Ryan Nemeth, dominating their singles match with a series of swift and precise strikes before finishing Nemeth off with a picture-perfect shooting star press in just 1:36. This impressive performance sets the stage for Takeshita to make waves in AEW's tag team division.

Madison Rayne, looking to continue her winning streak, faced Leila Grey in a singles match that saw both women exchange holds and near-falls. In the end, it was Rayne who came out on top, forcing Grey to submit to her patented "Roll Model" armbar at 8:25. This win solidifies Rayne's position as one of AEW's most formidable female competitors.

The night's penultimate match featured a Friday Night Street Fight between Swerve In Our Glory (Keith Lee and Swerve Strickland) and the duo of Josh Woods and Tony Nese. The chaos that ensued was nothing short of pandemonium, with bodies flying everywhere as both teams traded blows and brawled throughout the arena. Ultimately, it was Swerve In Our Glory who emerged victorious, pinning their opponents after a thunderous Lee splash at 12:53.

As AEW continues to push its creative boundaries and deliver on its promise of high-flying action, last night's show in Grand Rapids proved that this promotion is truly one to be reckoned with. With a talented roster and innovative match concepts, the future looks bright for All Elite Wrestling.
