CMLL's "La Noche de los Campeones" Delivers Thrills and Spills in Mexico City

Arena Mexico, the venerable home of Consejo Mundial De Lucha Libre (CMLL), played host to an electrifying Pay Per View event on March 17th, as the storied promotion brought together some of its top talent for "La Noche de los Campeones" - and this writer was honored to be in attendance.

The evening kicked off with a spirited tag team affair, as Bracito de Oro and Pequeno Olimpico successfully defended their Best Two Out Of Three Falls title against the formidable Fire and Guerrerito del Futuro. The crowd was hot from the opening bell, and these young guns showed no signs of slowing down en route to an impressive 2-0 victory.

Next up, a star-studded six-man tag team match featuring some of CMLL's most beloved names took center stage. La Fiera, Olimpico, and Safari teamed up to take on the trio of Dr. X, Violencia, and Zumbido - and what an absolute blast it was! Following intermission, Los Infernales - comprising Averno, El Satanico, and Mephisto - put on a clinic in their six-man tag team bout against Felino, Negro Casas, and Super Parka. This match was all about the technical grappling, with each competitor showcasing their mastery of submission holds and high-flying moves. In the end, Los Infernales proved too strong, taking home the win at 2-1.

The fourth match saw El Rayo de Jalisco Jr., Shocker, and Vampiro Canadiense face off against Tarzan Boy, Ultimo Guerrero, and Universo 2000 in another thrilling six-man tag team contest.
