NUMAZU NIGHT: NEW JAPAN PRO WRESTLING BRINGS THE HEAT TO SHIZUOKA
Numazu, Shizuoka, Japan - May 27th, 2024 - The Kira Messe Numazu played host to a scintillating evening of professional wrestling as New Japan Pro Wrestling brought their unique brand of action-packed excitement to the region. While the rain poured down outside, the passionate crowd of 650 was treated to nine matches of non-stop thrills, spills, and drama.
In the opening contest, TMDK's Kosei Fujita and Robbie Eagles proved too strong for the formidable duo of Katsuya Murashima and Shoma Kato. The winners showcased their aerial prowess, culminating in a picture-perfect diving double foot stomp from Fujita that sealed the deal (6:58).
The House Of Torture's Yoshinobu Kanemaru and Yujiro Takahashi then took on BULLET CLUB War Dogs' Clark Connors and Gedo. This bout was marked by its frenetic pace, with both teams trading near-falls and showcasing their technical prowess. In the end, it was Kanemaru who capitalized on a momentary lapse in attention from his opponents to secure the win (6:40).
Next up, Blake Christian and HAYATA battled El Desperado and Tiger Mask. This match featured an impressive display of high-flying action, with all four competitors putting their aerial skills on full display. Christian's top-rope hurricanrana ultimately proved the decisive blow (8:24).
The United Empire's Callum Newman and TJP faced off against Los Ingobernables de Japon's Titan and Yota Tsuji in a clash of styles that delighted the crowd. The LIDJ duo's rugged, hard-hitting approach proved too much for their opponents, as they secured the win with a devastating combination of slams (10:05).
In a match featuring two of NJPW's top teams, Los Ingobernables de Japon's BUSHI and Tetsuya Naito took on Kevin Knight and Tomoaki Honma. The LIDJ duo's chemistry and synergy were on full display as they worked in perfect harmony to secure the victory (9:33).
The Best Of The Super Junior 31 Block B tournament then took center stage, with Ninja Mack facing off against Dragon Dia. This bout was marked by its technical prowess, with both competitors showcasing their grappling skills. In the end, it was Mack's quickness and agility that allowed him to secure the win (8:30).
Next up, DOUKI clashed with KUSHIDA in a match that showcased both men's impressive skill sets. The high-flying DOUKI ultimately proved too much for his opponent, securing the victory with a series of aerial attacks (12:20).
The night's penultimate bout saw Taiji Ishimori face off against SHO. This contest was marked by its intense, hard-hitting action, with both competitors giving it their all. In the end, it was Ishimori who emerged victorious, securing the win with a devastating spear (12:32).
Finally, Hiromu Takahashi took on Drilla Moloney in what would prove to be the night's main event. This bout featured an incredible display of athleticism and physicality, as both competitors left everything they had in the ring. In the end, it was Takahashi who secured the win, setting a new record for the longest match of the night with a thrilling 19:23 effort.
In a post-match interview, Hiromu Takahashi praised his opponent's tenacity and dedication, stating that he believes this performance will be remembered as one of the greatest in NJPW history.
