NJPW's "The Real Deal" PPV Review

Ryogoku Kokugikan, Tokyo, Japan - February 19th, 2006 (Attendance: 8,000)

In a stacked card that featured some of the best talent in New Japan Pro Wrestling, "The Real Deal" PPV event delivered on its promise to deliver a thrilling night of action. From top to bottom, each match told a unique story and showcased the skills of the competitors.

We started off with Koji Kanemoto defeating Gentaro in a solid singles matchup that lasted 6:39 minutes. While not overly impressive, it was a good way to get the crowd going.

The CTU trio (Gedo, Jado, and Jushin Thunder Liger) then took on BADBOY Hido, Kintaro Kanemura, and Tetsuhiro Kuroda in a six-man tag team match. The action was fast-paced and chaotic, with all six competitors getting their chance to shine. In the end, CTU emerged victorious at 15:13 minutes.

The first major title change of the night came in the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Title match as El Samurai and Ryusuke Taguchi defeated CTU to capture the gold. This was a fantastic match that showcased the skills of both teams.

Next up was Tiger Mask, who put on a clinic against Black Tiger and NWA World Junior Heavyweight Champion (at the time) in a triple threat match. In an unexpected turn of events, Tiger Mask emerged victorious and captured the title from NWA. This was a tremendous match that had the crowd on its feet.

Hiroshi Tanahashi then faced off against Yuji Nagata in a singles matchup. The two men went back and forth, with each having their share of near-falls. In the end, Tanahashi emerged victorious at 21:11 minutes, solidifying his position as one of the top stars in NJPW.

The main event saw Brock Lesnar and Shinsuke Nakamura teaming up to take on Akebono and Riki Choshu. The crowd was electric for this match, which featured some incredible moments of power and finesse. In the end, Lesnar and Nakamura emerged victorious at 12:49 minutes.

The main event of the evening saw Hiroyoshi Tenzan and Masahiro Chono teaming up to take on Giant Bernard and Manabu Nakanishi for the IWGP Tag Team Titles. The match was a slow-burning classic, with each team trading near-falls and showing off their skills. In the end, Tenzan and Chono emerged victorious at 19:55 minutes, retaining their titles.

Overall, "The Real Deal" PPV event was an absolute must-see for fans of NJPW. With a card that featured some of the best talent in the world, there were few moments where the crowd wasn't on its feet cheering. If you're a fan of professional wrestling, this is one event you won't want to miss.
