NJPW Nagoya Congress Center Event Hall Report

September 24th, 2023 - Nagoya, Aichi, Japan

Attendance: 951

As the curtain closed on another electrifying night of professional wrestling in Nagoya, I couldn't help but feel a sense of awe at the sheer energy and athleticism on display. The NJPW faithful were treated to a card that featured some of the best tag team action you'll see anywhere, plus a few surprises along the way.

The opener saw Great Bash Heel (Togi Makabe and Tomoaki Honma) take down Oleg Boltin and Oskar Leube in a solid Tag Team Match. The veterans showed why they're still among the best in the business, with Makabe's power and Honma's technical savvy proving too much for their opponents to handle.

Next up, BULLET CLUB War Dogs (Clark Connors and Drilla Moloney) continued their impressive run of form, dispatching Kevin Knight and Yuto Nakashima with relative ease. These two teams are going to be a force to be reckoned with in the tag division all year long.

CHAOS and Satoshi Kojima then united to take down United Empire (Callum Newman, HENARE, and Jeff Cobb) in a thrilling Six Man Tag Team Match. This one was a real barnburner, with all eight men giving it their all and leaving everything in the ring. The CHAOS trio's experience and cohesion paid off in the end, as they emerged victorious.

But the main event of the first half was undoubtedly Guerrillas Of Destiny (El Phantasmo, Hikuleo, Jado, Tama Tonga, and Tanga Loa) vs. BULLET CLUB (Alex Coughlin, Chase Owens, David Finlay, Gabe Kidd, and Gedo). This one was a real clash of the titans, with both teams trading blows and showing no signs of slowing down. In the end, the Guerrillas' sheer size and strength proved too much for their opponents to handle.

The second half of the card kicked off with House Of Torture (EVIL, SHO, and Yoshinobu Kanemaru) taking down Just 4 Guys (DOUKI, SANADA, and TAKA Michinoku) in a wild Six Man Tag Team Match. These two teams are always a pleasure to watch, as they bring a level of chaos and unpredictability that's hard to find elsewhere.

Next up, Master Wato, Shota Umino, and Yuji Nagata united to take down Strong Style in the third installment of their Best Of Seven Series match. This one was a real battle royal, with all nine men giving it their all and leaving everything in the ring. In the end, the trio's experience and cohesion paid off, as they emerged victorious.

Finally, CHAOS and Hiroshi Tanahashi capped off an incredible night of wrestling by defeating Los Ingobernables de Japon (BUSHI, Hiromu Takahashi, Shingo Takagi, Tetsuya Naito, and Yota Tsuji) in a thrilling Ten Man Tag Team Match. This one was the perfect way to cap off the night, as all ten men gave it their all and left everything in the ring.

As the curtain closed on another unforgettable night of NJPW action, I couldn't help but feel grateful to have been a part of it. From top to bottom, this card had something for everyone - and that's what makes NJPW so special. Until next time...
