NJPW Shimonoseki Showcases Stellar Lineup

Kaikyo Messe Shimonoseki, September 19th, 2023 - In a city steeped in tradition and rich history, New Japan Pro Wrestling brought its unique brand of excitement to the masses, delivering a card that will be remembered for some time. The packed arena at Kaikyo Messe Shimonoseki bore witness to seven matches that showcased the best of what NJPW has to offer.

The evening began with Togi Makabe taking on Yuto Nakashima in a singles contest. Makabe's experience and power proved too much for his young opponent, as he emerged victorious in 7 minutes and 26 seconds.

Next up was a tag team affair featuring Satoshi Kojima and YOH teaming up to take on Tiger Mask and Tomoaki Honma. The former duo's chemistry was on full display as they outmaneuvered their opponents en route to a 9-minute-and-30-second win.

The action continued with Master Wato, Shota Umino, and Yuji Nagata forming an unlikely trio to take on Strong Style and Oskar Leube in a six-man tag team match. The crowd was treated to a thrilling contest that saw the good guys prevail in 9 minutes and 50 seconds.

Be-Beop Tag Team's Hiroshi Tanahashi and Toru Yano proved their worth by defeating Oleg Boltin and Ryusuke Taguchi in a tag team match that lasted 8 minutes and 25 seconds. The experience of the winning pair told in the end, as they outsmarted their opponents to claim victory.

CHAOS, consisting of Hirooki Goto, Kazuchika Okada, Tomohiro Ishii, and YOSHI-HASHI, faced off against TMDK's Bad Dude Tito, Mikey Nicholls, Shane Haste, and Zack Sabre Jr. in an eight-man tag team match that stole the show. The bout was a back-and-forth affair, with both teams giving it their all. In the end, CHAOS emerged victorious in 13 minutes and 26 seconds.

The main event saw Los Ingobernables de Japon (BUSHI, Hiromu Takahashi, Shingo Takagi, Tetsuya Naito, and Yota Tsuji) take on United Empire (Callum Newman, Great- O-Khan, HENARE, Jeff Cobb, and Will Ospreay) in a ten-man tag team match that will be remembered for years to come. The bout was an absolute thrill ride from start to finish, with both teams showcasing their incredible skills. In the end, Los Ingobernables de Japon came out on top in 13 minutes and 57 seconds.

The evening concluded with House Of Torture (Dick Togo, EVIL, SHO, and Yujiro Takahashi) facing off against Just 5 Guys (DOUKI, SANADA, Taichi, and TAKA Michinoku) in an eight-man tag team match. This one was a wild ride from start to finish, with all eight competitors giving it their all. In the end, House Of Torture emerged victorious in 14 minutes and 35 seconds.

Overall, NJPW's Shimonoseki show was an absolute success, showcasing some of the best talent the promotion has to offer. The packed arena was treated to a night of non-stop action that will be remembered for some time.
