NJPW Korakuen Hall Report: Thrilling Action and Surprising Upsets
Korakuen Hall played host to an action-packed card for New Japan Pro Wrestling on September 8th, with eight matches featuring some of the best talent in the world. The packed crowd of 1,190 enthusiasts were treated to a thrilling evening of professional wrestling, with upsets, near-falls, and technical mastery on display.
The night opened with Ryusuke Taguchi and Yuji Nagata taking on El Desperado in a tag team match. The veteran duo proved too strong for the young challenger, securing the win via pinfall in 7:48 minutes. Next up was Jakob Austin Young, who made quick work of Shoma Kato in a singles match that lasted just 4:58.
The first half of the card concluded with two tag team matches. TMDK's Kosei Fujita and Zack Sabre Jr. outwrestled Hiroyoshi Tenzan and Katsuya Murashima, while House Of Torture's Ren Narita and SHO bested Jado and Shota Umino. Both matches featured solid performances from the teams involved.
The main event block kicked off with Mad Bastards' Gabe Kidd and Jake Lee defeating Tomoaki Honma and Tomohiro Ishii in a tag team match that showcased some impressive teamwork. House Of Torture, featuring Dick Togo, EVIL, Yoshinobu Kanemaru, and Yujiro Takahashi, then took on Be-Bopt Tag Team, Oleg Boltin, and Tiger Mask in an eight-man tag team match. The house party prevailed in 10:51 minutes.
Just 5 Guys' DOUKI and TAKA Michinoku pulled off a major upset by defeating BULLET CLUB's Gedo and Taiji Ishimori in just 4:17 minutes. This win will surely boost the confidence of this underrated duo.
The main event saw HENARE challenge Hiromu Takahashi for the NEVER Openweight Title. In an epic encounter that lasted 25:02 minutes, HENARE emerged victorious to capture the championship. This stunning upset will undoubtedly shake up the NJPW landscape in the coming weeks.
United Empire and House Of Torture shine
Two factions stood out as stars of the show: United Empire and House Of Torture. The former's Callum Newman, Francesco Akira, Great-Oh-Khan, and Jeff Cobb dominated Los Ingobernables de Japon in an eight-man tag team match that featured plenty of high-flying action.
Meanwhile, House Of Torture's members showcased their individual skills throughout the night. Dick Togo and SHO impressed in their respective matches, while EVIL and Yujiro Takahashi formed a formidable duo in their victory over Be-Bopt Tag Team, Oleg Boltin, and Tiger Mask.
