"BEAST MODE" DOMINATES AT NJPW'S JUNIOR BUSHIDO FESTIVAL!

Tokyo, Japan - The Nippon Budokan played host to the most electrifying edition of New Japan Pro Wrestling's Junior Bushido Festival on June 6th, 2001. A sold-out crowd of 13,200 enthusiasts bore witness to a night that will be etched in their memories for years to come.

Tag Team Tussle In the opening bout, Katsuyori Shibata and Shinya Makabe teamed up to take down Hiroshi Tanahashi and Kenzo Suzuki in an exhilarating tag team match. The Shibata-Makabe tandem showcased their lightning-quick chemistry, culminating in a picture-perfect roll-up that secured the pin at 8:14.

All Japan Showdowns The undercard featured three thrilling New Japan vs. All Japan matches. Masanobu Fuchi's technical prowess proved too much for El Samurai (9:32), while Masahito Kakihara's high-flying antics left Minoru Tanaka reeling (6:21). Mitsuya Nagai outmaneuvered Takashi Iizuka in a battle of wits and brawn (8:00), and Manabu Nakanishi swiftly dispatched Mike Barton with his signature "Nakanishi Driver" (4:42).

Main Event Mayhem The main event featured a dream match between Toshiaki Kawada and Satoshi Kojima. The two combatants engaged in an intense, back-and-forth contest that ultimately saw Kawada emerge victorious at 15:16.

However, the real showstopper came in the form of a Six-Man Tag Team Match pitting BATT and Jushin Thunder Liger against TEAM2000 (AKIRA, Hiroyoshi Tenzan, and Masahiro Chono). The action was non-stop as all six competitors gave it their all. In the end, BATT's cunning and Liger's agility proved too much for the formidable team, resulting in a thrilling victory at 16:51.

Title Tilts The night culminated with two championship bouts. Hiroshi Hase challenged Keiji Muto in an electrifying singles match that saw Muto emerge victorious after a grueling 39:08 minutes of combat.

In the evening's main event, Kazuyuki Fujita successfully defended his IWGP Heavyweight Championship against Yuji Nagata, submitting him to the "Fujita Driver" at 10:57. This title reign now stands at an impressive 12 months and counting!
