NJPW LIVE FROM KORIYAMA: A NIGHT OF TAG TEAM THRILLS
The New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) faithful gathered at the Big Palette Fukushima on November 25th for an evening of eight-man tag team matches, and I was fortunate enough to be ringside for all the action. Let me tell you, it was a wild ride.
Match One: BULLET CLUB vs. Gates Of Agony/Tomoaki Honma/Yuto Nakashima
The night kicked off with a high-energy opener as the Bullet Club (Alex Coughlin, Gabe Kidd, Gedo, and Taiji Ishimori) took on Gates Of Agony, Tomoaki Honma, and Yuto Nakashima in an eight-man tag team match. The Bullet Club's experience and chemistry proved to be too much for their opponents, as they secured the win in 10:01.
Match Two: United Empire vs. House Of Torture
The United Empire (Callum Newman, Great-O-Khan, and HENARE) were looking to make a statement against the formidable House Of Torture (Dick Togo, EVIL, and Yujiro Takahashi). The two teams traded holds and near-falls, but in the end, it was the United Empire's strength and power that earned them the victory at 10:59.
Match Three: CHAOS vs. TMDK
The third match saw CHAOS (Tomohiro Ishii, Toru Yano, and YOH) clash with TMDK (Kosei Fujita, Mikey Nicholls, and Shane Haste). This one was a real barnburner, with all six competitors giving it their all. In the end, CHAOS' experience and teamwork proved to be the difference-maker, as they emerged victorious in 10:09.
Match Four: Kaito Kiyomiya/Oleg Boltin/Ryohei Oiwa vs. Oskar Leube/Ren Narita/Shota Umino
The fourth match featured a battle of young lions, with Kaito Kiyomiya, Oleg Boltin, and Ryohei Oiwa taking on Oskar Leube, Ren Narita, and Shota Umino. This one was all about the future of NJPW, as these six talented youngsters showed why they're being groomed for greatness. The winners were Kaito Kiyomiya, Oleg Boltin, and Ryohei Oiwa, in 10:30.
Match Five: Monstersauce vs. Atlantis Jr./Soberano Jr.
The first World Tag League match of the evening saw Monstersauce ( ) face off against Atlantis Jr. and Soberano Jr. (). This one was a real David-and-Goliath story, as the relatively unknown Monstersauce duo took on two of Mexico's finest. In the end, it was Monstersauce who emerged victorious in 9:40.
Match Six: Bishamon vs. Rogue Army
Next up were Bishamon () and Rogue Army (). This one was all about power and strength, as these four behemoths went toe-to-toe. The winners were Bishamon, in a thrilling 11:14 match that had the crowd on their feet.
Match Seven: Just 5 Guys vs. Minoru Suzuki/Yuji Nagata
The penultimate match saw Just 5 Guys () take on the experienced duo of Minoru Suzuki and Yuji Nagata (). This one was a real test of endurance, as these four competitors battled it out for nearly 16 minutes. In the end, it was Just 5 Guys who emerged victorious, in an impressive 15:31 effort.
Match Eight: Yota Tsuji/Zandokan Jr. vs. Guerrillas Of Destiny
The main event saw Yota Tsuji and Zandokan Jr. () face off against the veteran Guerrillas Of Destiny (). This one was a real clash of styles, as these four competitors went all out in their quest for victory. In the end, it was Yota Tsuji and Zandokan Jr. who emerged victorious, in an impressive 14:51 effort that capped off a wild night of action.
All in all, this was a fantastic card from NJPW, with plenty of exciting matches and a strong showing from many of their top stars. If you missed it, do yourself a favor and track it down – it's definitely worth your time!
