Pro Wrestling NOAH's "Sendai Surprise" PPV Event Review

The Xebio Arena Sendai played host to Pro Wrestling NOAH's latest pay-per-view extravaganza, aptly titled "Sendai Surprise". A stacked card featuring some of the promotion's top talent left fans on the edge of their seats from start to finish. Your correspondent was on hand to bring you all the action as it unfolded.

Pre-Show Matches

The evening kicked off with a pair of pre-show matches, each boasting its own unique brand of excitement. In the opener, Anthony Greene looked to continue his winning ways against Taishi Ozawa. While Ozawa showed flashes of brilliance, Greene's technical prowess ultimately proved too much for him, securing the victory in 4:59.

Next up, Sugiura-gun put their collective might behind a six-man tag team match against Akitoshi Saito, Sean Legacy, and Yoshiki Inamura. This one was all about momentum and Sugiura-gun's trio of powerhouses – Hideki Suzuki, Saxon Huxley, and Timothy Thatcher – rode that wave to a decisive 8:13 win.

Main Card

As the main event segment got underway, fans were treated to an impressive display of tag team wrestling as Kongo and Jinsei Shinzaki teamed up against Atsushi Kotoge, Kaito Kiyomiya, Naomichi Marufuji, Ninja Mack, and Seiki Yoshioka. The ten-man free-for-all was a whirlwind of action, with Kongo's sheer strength and Shinzaki's cunning proving the difference-makers in their 14:21 triumph.

In a Three On Two Handicap match that defied the odds, Alejandro, Dragon Bane, and Dralistico combined forces to take down Alpha Wolf and Lanzeloth. The outcome was far from certain, but the trio's sheer aggression ultimately paid off in 7:41.

Title Matches

Next up, Shuhei Taniguchi and Takashi Sugiura put their GHC Tag Team Titles on the line against Daiki Inaba and Masa Kitamiya. While the challengers showed remarkable resilience, the defending champions' experience and teamwork proved too much for them, securing a convincing win.

GLG (Tadasuke and YO-HEY) were looking to add another notch to their GHC Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Title reign against Eita and Yoshinari Ogawa. In a thrilling contest that saw both teams give it their all, GLG emerged victorious in 12:15.

Headlining Acts

The evening's main event saw El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. challenge Jack Morris for the GHC National Title. Morris gave it his all, but Wagner Jr.'s sheer strength and cunning ultimately earned him a hard-fought victory in 23:04.

In the night's penultimate match, HAYATA looked to add another title to his collection as he faced AMAKUSA for the GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship. A thrilling contest saw both men give it their all, but HAYATA's quickness and guile ultimately secured him the win.

Finally, Jake Lee was seeking to make a statement by taking on Katsuhiko Nakajima for the GHC Heavyweight Title. The two men went toe-to-toe in an electrifying contest that left fans on the edge of their seats. In the end, Lee's experience and power proved too much for Nakajima, securing him the title in 22:58.
