Impact Wrestling's "Destination X" Review

March 11, 2007 - Universal Studios, Orlando, Florida (Attendance: 900)

In a thrilling Pay Per View event, Impact Wrestling's "Destination X" delivered an action-packed card that left fans in attendance and at home eager for more. With a stacked lineup featuring some of the best talent in professional wrestling today, this show had all the ingredients to be a hit - and it didn't disappoint.

Opening Match: Latin American Exchange vs. Team 3D (Non Title Tag Team Ghetto Street Fight) In what turned out to be an absolute barnburner of an opener, Hernandez and Homicide took on Brother Devon and Brother Ray in a hard-hitting, no-holds-barred Ghetto Street Fight. These two teams know each other all too well, having clashed numerous times before, but that familiarity only added to the intensity and unpredictability of this match. In the end, it was Hernandez and Homicide who emerged victorious, their teamwork and high-flying ability proving too much for Team 3D to handle (14:50).

Match 2: Jackie Moore and James Storm vs. Gail Kim and Petey Williams (Double Bullrope Tag Team Match) The pace of the show never slowed down as we jumped into match number two, a high-flying Double Bullrope Tag Team affair featuring four very talented competitors. This one was all about aerial attacks and quick reversals, with Moore and Storm's chemistry proving particularly potent against Kim and Williams. In the end, it was the unlikely duo of Moore and Storm who came out on top (8:05).

Match 3: Senshi vs. Austin Starr (Cross Face Chicken Wing Match) Senshi, one of Impact Wrestling's most underrated performers, looked to make a statement in this intriguing Cross Face Chicken Wing match against the always-game-but-ultimately-outmatched Austin Starr. This one was all about technical grappling and submissions, with Senshi ultimately securing the win via Cross Face Chicken Wing (11:10).

Match 4: The Voodoo Kin Mafia vs. The Heartbreakers (Tag Team Match) The Voodoo Kin Mafia - comprised of BG James and Kip James - took on The Heartbreakers - Antonio Thomas and Romeo Roselli - in a match that was all about high-flying action and quick tag-team sequences. This one was a blast, with both teams trading near-falls and showcasing their impressive aerial abilities (9:07).

Match 5: Chris Sabin vs. Jerry Lynn (Impact X-Division Title Best Two Out Of Three Falls Match) In what turned out to be an absolute show-stealer of a match, Chris Sabin put his Impact X-Division Title on the line against the always-tough Jerry Lynn in a thrilling Best Two Out Of Three Falls affair. This one was all about high-flying action and innovative moves, with Sabin ultimately retaining his title via a beautiful Shooting Star Press (13:30).

Match 6: Rhino vs. AJ Styles (Elevation X Match) The always-entertaining Rhino took on the incredibly talented AJ Styles in an Elevation X match that was all about high-flying action and intense physicality. This one was a thrill ride from start to finish, with both competitors delivering some truly impressive moves (12:40).

Match 7: Kurt Angle vs. Scott Steiner (Singles Match) In what turned out to be an absolute war of a match, Kurt Angle took on the powerful and aggressive Scott Steiner in a hard-hitting singles affair. This one was all about strength, power, and intense physicality, with Angle ultimately emerging victorious via a well-placed Angle Slam (12:00).

Main Event: Sting vs. Abyss (Last Rites Match) The main event featured two of Impact Wrestling's biggest stars - the legendary Sting and the monstrous Abyss - in a Last Rites match that was all about big moves and intense physicality. This one was an absolute war, with both competitors delivering some truly impressive spots before Sting ultimately secured the win via a Scorpion Death Drop (9:51).

Main Event II: Christian Cage vs. Samoa Joe (NWA World Heavyweight Title Match) The show-closing match featured two of Impact Wrestling's top stars - Christian Cage and Samoa Joe - in an intense NWA World Heavyweight Title affair that was all about big moves, submission holds, and physicality. This one was a thrill ride from start to finish, with both competitors delivering some truly impressive spots before Christian Cage ultimately emerged victorious via a roll-up (17:10).

Overall "Destination X" was an absolute hit from start to finish, featuring an incredible lineup of matches that showcased the very best of Impact Wrestling.
