Palace of Auburn Hills, Detroit, Michigan - June 21st, 2009

The wait is over, folks! The biggest show in professional wrestling returned to the Palace of Auburn Hills last night, and what a night it was! Impact's Pay-Per-View extravaganza delivered on all fronts, with a stacked card that kept the crowd of 4,000 on the edge of their seats from start to finish.

X-DIVISION TITLE KING OF THE MOUNTAIN MATCH Suicide def. Alex Shelley, Chris Sabin, Consequences Creed & Jay Lethal (23:35)

What an opening match! The X-Division's best and brightest put it all on the line in a thrilling King of the Mountain affair. In the end, it was Suicide who emerged victorious, pinning Consequences Creed to claim the coveted title. A great way to get things started.

SINGLES MATCH Daniels def. Shane Douglas (08:14)

The Fallen Angel looked to prove his superiority over the legendary Shane Douglas. And while Douglas gave him a run for his money, Daniels' technical prowess ultimately proved too much, as he submitted Douglas with the Cattle Mutilation.

IMPACT KNOCKOUTS TITLE MATCH Angelina Love def. Tara (06:52)

The Knockouts Division's top talent clashed in what was essentially a high-stakes beauty pageant. In the end, it was Angelina Love who proved her skills are more than just skin deep, pinning Tara to retain the title.

MONSTER'S BALL TAG TEAM MATCH Abyss & Taylor Wilde def. Daffney & Raven (14:09)

What can I say about this one? It was utter chaos, with all four competitors giving it their all in a match that defied logic and reason. In the end, Abyss' sheer power proved too much for his opponents, as he and Taylor Wilde emerged victorious.

SINGLES MATCH Sting def. Matt Morgan (09:01)

The Icon looked to prove his mettle against the imposing Matt Morgan. While Morgan gave Sting a run for his money, it was ultimately the Hall of Famer's quickness and cunning that allowed him to outmaneuver his opponent.

IMPACT WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH Beer Money Inc. (James Storm & Robert Roode) def. Team 3D

This one was all about the action, folks! Beer Money Inc.'s high-flying antics clashed with Team 3D's hard-hitting style in a match that had it all. In the end, Beer Money emerged victorious, retaining their title.

IMPACT WORLD TITLE KING OF THE MOUNTAIN MATCH Kurt Angle def. AJ Styles, Jeff Jarrett, Mick Foley & Samoa Joe (20:45)

And then there was the main event. What can I say? This was an all-time classic, with five of the best in the business putting it all on the line for the coveted Impact World Title. In the end, Kurt Angle emerged victorious, pinning AJ Styles to claim the title once more.

All in all, a fantastic show that left this scribe thoroughly entertained. If you missed it, I highly recommend seeking out the replay. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.

FINAL THOUGHTS

Impact's Pay-Per-View event was an absolute thrill ride from start to finish. With a stacked card and some truly exceptional matches, this show will be remembered for some time to come. The X-Division title change was the perfect way to kick things off, while the Kurt Angle-AJ Styles main event stole the show.
