Impact Wrestling's Slammiversary XV: A Thrilling Affair
Orlando, Florida - June 28, 2015 - Universal Studios
The City Beautiful played host to the biggest show of the year in Impact Wrestling, as Slammiversary XV brought the best and brightest from the world of professional wrestling. And boy, did it deliver! From high-flying X-Division action to brutal street fights and unsanctioned brawls, this pay-per-view extravaganza had something for everyone.
We kicked things off with a thrilling three-way elimination match for the Impact X-Division Title. Tigre Uno proved himself the man of the hour, outlasting DJ Z and Manik to claim the gold in a 12:06 barnburner. The young luchador's aerial assault left both opponents reeling, and his championship celebration was the perfect way to start the night.
Next up, Robbie E looked to make a statement against Jessie Godderz in a singles match. And statement he made - with a vicious beatdown that left the veteran wrestler reeling. The 11:20 time frame belied the intensity of the bout, which saw E use every trick in the book to keep Godderz at bay.
The first half of the evening concluded with Bram taking on Matt Morgan in a street fight for the ages. These two behemoths went toe-to-toe in a war that left both men battered and bruised - but only one could emerge victorious. And in 9:30, it was Bram who claimed the upper hand, his unyielding aggression proving too much for Morgan to handle.
The action slowed down ever so slightly with Austin Aries' encounter with Davey Richards. The two former ROH World Champions engaged in a technical masterclass that left fans on the edge of their seats. In the end, it was Aries who proved his superiority, submitting the challenger in 17:15 to add another notch to his belt.
The first women's match of the evening saw Awesome Kong and Brooke take on The Dollhouse (Jade, Marti Bell, and Taryn Terrell) in a three-on-two handicap bout. And what a show it was! The powerhouse duo of Kong and Brooke proved more than a match for their adversaries, dispatching them with ease in 8:05 to send the crowd into raptures.
The unsanctioned match between James Storm and Magnus promised fireworks, and deliver they did. These two bitter rivals went at each other's throats like men possessed, leaving everything they had in a thrilling 16:40 encounter that left fans gasping for air.
Finally, it was time for the main event - Jeff Jarrett's King of the Mountain match against Bobby Roode, Drew Galloway, Eric Young, and Matt Hardy. And what a battle royale it was! The TNA legends clashed in a war of attrition that saw each participant take their turn at the top of the mountain. In the end, it was Jarrett who emerged victorious, outlasting the competition to claim the coveted King of the Mountain title.
As the dust settled on Slammiversary XV, Impact Wrestling proved once again why they remain one of the premier promotions in professional wrestling today. With a card stacked from top to bottom with incredible matches and unforgettable moments, this was an event that will be remembered for years to come. And if you missed it, well - you just can't afford to miss out on the action!
