LEXINGTON, KENTUCKY - APRIL 30, 2006 - The Rupp Center played host to one of the most electrifying pay-per-view events in recent memory as World Wrestling Entertainment presented "Backlash" to a sold-out crowd of 14,000 enthusiastic fans.

The evening kicked off with Carlito and Chris Masters locking horns in a singles match. In a battle of strength and agility, Carlito emerged victorious, submitting Masters to the Crossface Chickenwing in a thrilling 9:58 minutes.

Next up was Umaga, who took on the legendary Ric Flair in a highly anticipated showdown. The Samoan Submission Specialist proved too much for the Nature Boy, finishing him off with the Samoan Splash in just 3:29 minutes of action.

The WWE Women's Championship was up for grabs in the third bout as Trish Stratus faced off against Mickie James. In a match that saw both competitors give it their all, Stratus managed to retain her title, pinning James after a series of rapid-fire struts and slaps in 4:05 minutes.

The intercontinental title was on the line in the fourth contest as Rob Van Dam sought to add the WWE Intercontinental Championship to his Money in the Bank Briefcase. In a back-and-forth battle, VD emerged victorious, pinning Shelton Benjamin after a series of Five-Star Frogsplashes and rolling thunderforys.

The main event of the evening saw Kane take on The Big Show in a highly anticipated singles match. Unfortunately for fans, this one ended in a no-contest due to the ring being destroyed and both competitors unable to continue.

Shane McMahon and Vince McMahon then faced off against Shawn Michaels in a No Holds Barred Two-on-One Handicap Match. In a wild and unpredictable bout, the McMahon duo managed to get the better of HBK, with Shane delivering a devastating Coast-to-Coast to seal the deal at 19:59 minutes.

Finally, it was time for the WWE Championship to be defended as John Cena faced off against Edge and Triple H in a No Disqualification Triple Threat Match. In an epic contest that saw all three competitors give it their all, Cena emerged victorious, pinning Edge after a series of Attitude Adjustments and a final five-knuckle shuffle at 17:34 minutes.
