WWE's Evolution PPV Review: A Thrilling Night of Action in the Big Apple

New York City, NY - The Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum played host to WWE's Evolution pay-per-view event on October 28th, and yours truly was on hand to witness a night filled with electric matches that left fans eager for more. In this report, I'll break down each bout and share my thoughts on what made this card so special.

Match 1: Lita & Trish Stratus vs. Alicia Fox & Mickie James (Tag Team Match) A nostalgic opening match saw the legendary duo of Lita and Trish Stratus take on Alicia Fox and Mickie James. This tag team bout was a love letter to the past, with both teams showcasing their signature moves. The action was fast-paced, and the crowd responded positively to the Hall of Famers' return to in-ring competition. A well-executed plancha from Lita sealed the deal, as she and Stratus emerged victorious (11:03).

Match 2: Nia Jax vs. Alundra Blayze, Asuka, Billie Kay, Carmella, Dana Brooke, Ember Moon, Ivory, Kelly Kelly, Lana, Mandy Rose, Maria Kanellis, Michelle McCool, Molly Holly, Naomi, Peyton Royce, Sonya Deville, Tamina, Torrie Wilson, and Zelina Vega (20-Woman Battle Royal) In a chaotic and thrilling 20-woman battle royal, Nia Jax proved why she's the Queen of the Ring. The mayhem was non-stop as participants clashed in every corner of the ring. With eliminations coming at a rapid pace, it was only a matter of time before Jax stood tall above the wreckage (16:28). A fantastic way to kick off the main card.

Match 3: Toni Storm vs. Io Shirai (Mae Young Classic 2018 Final Match) The highly anticipated Mae Young Classic finale pitted Toni Storm against Io Shirai in a match that lived up to its hype. Both competitors showcased their incredible athleticism, with Storm's power and Shirai's agility on full display. In the end, Storm's sheer strength proved too much for the Japanese sensation, as she secured the win (10:04).

Match 4: Bayley, Natalya, & Sasha Banks vs. The Riott Squad (Liv Morgan, Ruby Riott, & Sarah Logan) (Six-Woman Tag Team Match) The Riott Squad looked to cause chaos in this six-woman tag team match-up, but the trio of Bayley, Natalya, and Sasha Banks proved more than a match for them. A series of high-flying moves and clever teamwork led to the victorious trio standing tall (13:40).

Match 5: Shayna Baszler vs. Kairi Sane (WWE NXT Women's Title Match) In a battle between two of the best female competitors in the world, Shayna Baszler successfully defended her WWE NXT Women's Championship against Kairi Sane. The action was intense and technical, with both women showcasing their grappling skills. In the end, Baszler's power and experience proved too much for Sane, as she retained her title (12:32).

Match 6: Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair (WWE SmackDown Women's Title Last Woman Standing Match) The main event saw Becky Lynch face off against Charlotte Flair in a thrilling Last Woman Standing match for the WWE SmackDown Women's Championship. Both women left it all out there, engaging in a brutal and physical contest that tested their limits. In the end, Lynch emerged victorious, retaining her title (28:40). A fitting conclusion to an incredible night of action.

Main Event: Ronda Rousey vs. Nikki Bella (WWE RAW Women's Title Match) The evening concluded with Ronda Rousey putting her WWE RAW Women's Championship on the line against Nikki Bella. This bout was a clash of styles, as the submission specialist faced off against the veteran Bella. In the end, Rousey's power and technical skill proved too much for Bella, as she successfully defended her title (14:07).

The Verdict Evolution was a night to remember, featuring some of the best matches WWE has offered in recent memory. The card boasted a mix of nostalgia, athleticism, and technical grappling that left fans satisfied. Each match told its own unique story, with standout performances from Toni Storm, Nia Jax, Becky Lynch, and Shayna Baszler.

As I file my report for zohash.com, I can confidently say that Evolution was an event for the ages, one that will be remembered for years to come in the world of professional wrestling.
