Viking Conquest and Rousey Rampage Highlight WWE's Fort Worth Frenzy
FORT WORTH, TEXAS - In a night that will be remembered by the WWE faithful, World Wrestling Entertainment brought its A-game to Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, delivering a thrilling TV-show that left fans begging for more. The 8,497-strong crowd was treated to a series of barnburning matches, capped off by a pair of dominant performances from Ronda Rousey and The Viking Raiders.
In the opening match, Erik and Ivar, collectively known as The Viking Raiders, proved why they're one of the top tag teams in the WWE. Their opponents, Jinder Mahal and Shanky, were no pushovers, but the veteran duo was outmatched from the get-go. A flurry of high-impact moves culminated in a thunderous Viking Experience that sealed the deal for the victors (1:15).
Next up, Shinsuke Nakamura looked to continue his winning ways against Ludwig Kaiser. The Japanese superstar showed off his trademark athleticism, nailing a pair of beautiful Kinshasas en route to a hard-fought victory (6:40). This one was an early contender for match of the night.
But then came Ronda Rousey, and all bets were off. Natalya, her opponent, was no stranger to the likes of Rousey's formidable skills, but that didn't stop the rowdy crowd from erupting in cheers as the former UFC champion laid waste to her foe (2:15). The armbar specialist may have left some of Natalya's limbs twisted and turned, but it was her unyielding aggression that truly impressed.
As the night wore on, tag team action took center stage. In a battle for the right to challenge for the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Titles, The Usos (Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso) outlasted Los Lotharios (Angel and Humberto), handing their opponents a stinging defeat (2:00). This one was all about the high-flying, hard-hitting antics of these two talented tag teams.
Finally, Drew McIntyre looked to prove his mettle against Butch. The Scottish Psychopath did just that, using his trademark power to overpower and pin his opponent in short order (1:30).
In a night filled with memorable moments, it was the top two matches - Rousey vs. Natalya and The Viking Raiders vs. Mahal/Shanky - that truly stole the show. If you missed this one, don't worry; you can bet your bottom dollar we'll be bringing more of these WWE thrills straight to Zohash.com.
