WWF Report: Judgment Day Dominates at the Schottenstein Center

April 20, 2023 - Columbus, OH

The Schottenstein Center played host to an electric night of professional wrestling as World Wrestling Entertainment brought its A-game to the Buckeye State. The sold-out crowd of 9,709 was treated to a thrilling card that showcased the best of the WWF's talent pool.

Tag Team Chaos

The evening kicked off with a high-flying tag team contest pitting The Judgment Day (Damian Priest and Finn Balor) against LWO (Rey Mysterio and Santos Escobar). This one had all the makings of an instant classic, with each team trading near falls and delivering their respective signature moves. In the end, it was Priest's patented Reckoning that sealed the deal for The Judgment Day, securing a 12:51 victory.

Raiding the Roster

Braun Strowman and Ricochet made quick work of The Viking Raiders (Erik and Ivar) in their tag team match. The powerhouse duo exploited the Viking's aggression, using Ricochet's aerial assaults to great effect. Strowman's thunderous running powerslam proved the decisive blow, earning the pair a 10:18 win.

Divas Take Center Stage

The WWE Women's Tag Team Title was on the line in an intriguing matchup featuring Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez versus Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville. This one featured plenty of athleticism, with all four competitors putting their bodies on the line. In the end, it was Morgan and Rodriguez who emerged victorious, claiming the titles with a well-timed combination move in just 6:09.

Intercontinental Intrigue

Gunther's pursuit of the WWE Intercontinental Title reached its climax as he faced Xavier Woods in a battle for supremacy. Gunther's power-based offense proved effective against Woods' technical prowess, leading to a hard-fought 10:35 victory and the championship reign of the former NXT star.

No Holds Barred Mayhem

The main event saw Solo Sikoa collide with Matt Riddle in a No Disqualification Match that would leave no one unscathed. These two physical specimens left everything they had on the mat, trading heavy strikes and brutal submissions. In the end, it was Sikoa's sheer strength and cunning that allowed him to secure the win via pinfall at 14:05.

As the night drew to a close, the WWF faithful departed the Schottenstein Center with full bellies of excitement and anticipation for what's next in store for these talented performers. Until then, it's your correspondent Simon Cambers signing off.
