WWF Savannah Smackdown: A Night of Upsets and Dominance
By Jon Wertheim, Special to ESPN.com
Savannah, Georgia - In front of a packed EnMarket Arena on May 26th, World Wrestling Entertainment's (WWE) online stream brought the excitement to fans worldwide. The taped broadcast date is set for May 29th, but let me tell you, this show was worth waiting for.
The evening kicked off with a singles match between Pete Dunne and Dijak. In what can only be described as a battle of wits, Dunne's technical grappling prowess proved too much for the hard-hitting Dijak. The former NXT UK Champion showcased his impressive armbar skills to secure the submission victory.
Next up, the Tag Team Match between The Unholy Union (Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn) and Katana Chance and Kayden Carter was a wild ride from start to finish. This trio of women's wrestlers put on an absolute clinic, with each duo trading holds and moves in a thrilling display of athleticism. In the end, The Unholy Union's cunning teamwork paid off as they emerged victorious, much to the delight of the Savannah crowd.
As we look ahead to the broadcast date on May 29th, fans are left wondering what other surprises WWE has in store for us. Will we see a title change or some long-overdue justice served? One thing is certain - this card has set the bar high, and the anticipation is palpable.
Tune in next week for more Smackdown coverage and analysis from yours truly!
