Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - CONSOL Energy Center - July 25th, 2016
The stage was set for an explosive night of professional wrestling as the WWE rolled into Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania's CONSOL Energy Center. The packed arena witnessed a thrilling card that saw some of the best in the business go toe-to-toe in pursuit of championship gold.
Fatal Four-Way Mayhem In the opening contest, Finn Balor took on Cesaro, Kevin Owens, and Rusev in a Non-Title Fatal Four Way Match. The action was fast-paced and chaotic from the get-go, with all four competitors delivering their unique brand of punishment to one another. In the end, it was Balor who emerged victorious, pinning Rusev after the Coup de Grâce. The match time was an impressive 20:27.
The Queen Takes a Step Back Nia Jax made her presence felt in the second contest, taking on Britt Baker in a Singles Match. The powerhouse from the Pacific Islands dominated the early going before finishing off Baker with the Samoan Drop. The match lasted a mere 1:20, showcasing Jax's incredible strength and power.
Fatal Four-Way Fracas Roman Reigns was up next, teaming with Chris Jericho, Sami Zayn, and Sheamus in a Fatal Four Way Match. This one had it all - high-flying action, brutal brawling, and even a few moments of technical grappling. In the end, it was Reigns who stood tall, pinning Jericho after the Spear. The match time was 17:14.
Neville's Lone Wolf Rampage Curtis Axel got on the wrong side of Neville in their Singles Match, which ended with the Red Queen delivering a beautiful Shooting Star Press to pick up the win. The match lasted just 3:43, with Neville showcasing his incredible aerial prowess.
Women's Title War The WWE RAW Women's Championship was on the line as Sasha Banks took on Charlotte in a highly anticipated matchup. These two women are known for their incredible technical grappling skills, and this bout did not disappoint. In the end, it was Banks who emerged victorious, forcing Charlotte to submit to the Bank Statement. The match time was an impressive 16:52.
Braun's Brief But Brutal Beating James Ellsworth got a taste of Braun Strowman's fury in their Singles Match, which lasted all of 1:09. That's right - just over a minute! Strowman delivered a vicious Running Powerslam to send Ellsworth crashing to the mat.
Tag Team Tussle The Shining Stars (Epico and Primo) faced off against Big Cass and Enzo Amore in a Tag Team Match that saw some fun moments of comedy mixed with high-flying action. In the end, it was Cass and Enzo who stood tall, pinning Epico after a big boot to the face. The match time was 1:54.
Universal Title #1 Contendership In the main event, Finn Balor faced off against Roman Reigns in a WWE Universal Title #1 Contendership Match. This one had all the makings of a classic - intense action, near-falls aplenty, and even a few moments of drama. In the end, it was Balor who emerged victorious, pinning Reigns after the Coup de Grâce. The match time was an impressive 13:52.
All in all, this was a fantastic card from start to finish. The WWE has truly hit its stride in recent months, and last night's show in Pittsburgh was no exception. Until next time...
