WWF Live from Dallas: A Thrilling Night of Action
April 4, 2022 - American Airlines Center, Dallas, Texas
The WWE rolled into Big D on a balmy spring evening, bringing with it a card that promised plenty of excitement and delivered in spades. From the opening bell to the final curtain call, this live TV show from the American Airlines Center was an absolute thrill ride.
Naomi & Sasha Banks Defeat Liv Morgan & Rhea Ripley (9:00)
The evening got underway with a barnburner of a tag team match as Naomi and Sasha Banks took on Liv Morgan and Rhea Ripley. The teams traded near-falls throughout, but in the end it was the reigning champions who emerged victorious. A top-rope hurricanrana from Naomi sealed the deal, leaving the challengers stunned and frustrated.
The Miz Beats Dominik Mysterio (0:30)
Next up, The Miz took on Dominik Mysterio in a singles match that was over almost before it began. The Master of Ceremonies proved why he's one of the top heels in the business, using his cunning and quickness to catch Mysterio off guard and secure the win.
Bron Breakker Wins WWE NXT Title from Dolph Ziggler (10:45)
The main event of the evening was a highly anticipated WWE NXT title match between Bron Breakker and Dolph Ziggler. The challenger came out guns blazing, using his power to dominate early on. However, as the match wore on, Ziggler's experience began to pay dividends, and it looked like he might just pull off the upset. But in the end, it was Breakker's raw strength that proved too much for the former champ, allowing him to secure the win and claim the gold.
Austin Theory & The Usos Defeat Finn Bálor & RK-Bro (8:25)
The penultimate match of the evening saw Austin Theory and The Usos - Jey and Jimmy Uso - take on Finn Bálor and the unlikely duo of Randy Orton and Riddle. This six-man tag team affair was a wild ride from start to finish, with all six competitors giving it their all. In the end, it was Theory's quickness and the Usos' teamwork that allowed them to outmaneuver their foes and emerge victorious.
The Street Profits Defeat Alpha Academy (8:25)
The night wrapped up with a Texas Tornado tag team match pitting The Street Profits - Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford - against Alpha Academy's Chad Gable and Otis. This one was a real barnburner, with all four competitors giving it their all. In the end, however, it was the Profits' high-flying offense that proved too much for the Academy, allowing them to secure the win.
All in all, this was an excellent show from start to finish. The WWE has another successful stop on its belt, and fans in Dallas were treated to a truly unforgettable night of professional wrestling. Until next time, folks... [smirk]
