WWF LIVE FROM HARTFORD: A NIGHT OF THRILLS AND SURPRISES
Hartford, CT - May 6th, 2023 - The XL Center was electric tonight as World Wrestling Entertainment brought its A-game to the Constitution State. A sold-out crowd of 8841 witnessed a night filled with twists and turns, as some of the company's top talent took center stage.
In the opening match, Becky Lynch continued her quest for Money in the Bank glory by besting Sonya Deville in a hard-hitting encounter. The former Raw Women's Champion showed why she's still one of the best in the business, overpowering Deville with a series of high-impact moves. The victory clocked in at 11:20, a testament to Lynch's unrelenting drive.
Next up was Gunther, who put on a show for the Hartford faithful by defeating Kevin Owens in a non-title affair. Gunther's German suplex and subsequent pin earned him the win in 17:20, further solidifying his reputation as a force to be reckoned with.
The tag team action saw Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler team up against Katana Chance and Kayden Carter, resulting in an entertaining 8:45 bout. The SmackDown Women's Champions proved too much for their opponents, showcasing their chemistry and finishing the match with a devastating submission.
The interpromotional battle between Ricochet and Shinsuke Nakamura ended abruptly when the two competitors clashed heads, causing the referee to stop the match due to excessive bleeding. A no contest was declared, bringing an unexpected close to this highly anticipated matchup.
In a Money in the Bank qualifying bout, Zoey Stark overcame Natalya in a quick 3:50 affair. Stark's agility and quickness allowed her to evade Natalya's attacks before securing the win with a decisive roll-up.
The main event featured Seth Rollins challenging Damian Priest for the WWE World Heavyweight Title, with the champion putting up an impressive fight before ultimately falling to "The Visionary" in 21:55. Rollins' second reign as world champion is now a reality, cementing his status as one of the company's all-time greats.
As the curtain closed on this eventful evening, it's clear that WWE has something special brewing for its fans. With Money in the Bank just around the corner, these qualifying matches have set the stage for what promises to be an unforgettable pay-per-view. Until then, the world of professional wrestling will continue to spin with excitement and unpredictability.
