WWE Unforgiven 2006: A Night of Surprises in Raleigh

Raleigh, NC - The RBC Centre played host to WWE's Unforgiven pay-per-view event on October 8, 2006, a night that will be remembered for its shocking upsets and thrilling action. In the end, it was King Booker who emerged victorious, claiming the World Heavyweight Championship in a Fatal Four-Way match that had the packed crowd on the edge of their seats.

The evening got off to a hot start with Matt Hardy defeating Gregory Helms in a non-title contest. The two Superstars engaged in a hard-hitting affair, with Hardy ultimately securing the win at 13:15.

Next up, WWE RAW Tag Team Champions Brian Kendrick and Paul London successfully defended their titles against Idol Stevens and KC James. The champions' high-flying offense was too much for their opponents to handle, as they wrapped up the match in a mere 9:45.

Montel Vontavious Porter (MVP) made his presence felt early on, defeating Marty Garner in just 2:38 of action. MVP's impressive moveset and Garner's valiant effort made for an entertaining matchup, even if it was relatively brief.

The first major upset of the night came when Mr. Kennedy stunned The Undertaker with a victory via pinfall. This one went the distance at 20:43, with Kennedy's determination and cunning ultimately paying off against the Deadman.

In a Falls Count Anywhere match that took the action outside the ring, Rey Mysterio outlasted Chavo Guerrero in a thrilling contest that lasted 12:12. The two luchadores put on a show, using every inch of the arena to score points and gain an advantage.

The penultimate match saw Chris Benoit take down William Regal via submission in 11:25. This was a technically sound match with both competitors giving it their all, but in the end, Benoit's experience and skill proved too much for Regal.

And then there was the main event. The Fatal Four-Way match for the World Heavyweight Championship featured King Booker, Batista, Bobby Lashley, and Finlay. This one had it all: drama, excitement, and even a little bit of chaos. In the end, it was King Booker who emerged victorious, pinning Finlay to win the title at 16:55.

In the aftermath of Unforgiven, WWE fans are left wondering what's next for these Superstars. Will Mr. Kennedy continue his winning streak? Can The Undertaker regain his momentum after a shocking loss? And how will King Booker celebrate his new championship reign?

For now, we can only speculate. But one thing is certain: WWE Unforgiven 2006 was an unforgettable night in Raleigh that will be remembered for years to come.
