WWA Holiday Havoc Report: AJ Styles' Title Triumph Headlines Star-Studded Card

Detroit's Joe Louis Arena played host to a thrilling WWE show on December 20th, as the company brought its A-game to the Motor City with a stacked card that featured some of the top talent in the business. The main event was, of course, the WWE Championship match between AJ Styles and James Ellsworth, but there were plenty of other highlights throughout the evening.

First up, La Luchadora made her presence felt with a quick victory over Alexa Bliss, dispatching the former champion in just 3:01. It's clear that this new addition to the WWE roster is looking to make an impact, and she did just that with a dominant performance.

Next up, Mojo Rawley continued his winning ways by taking down Curt Hawkins in just 2:30. The former NFL player is clearly building momentum as we head into the new year, and a victory over the veteran Hawkins will only help to boost his confidence.

The Intercontinental Championship was on the line next, as The Miz put his title on the line against Apollo Crews. In a match that saw both men give it their all, The Miz emerged victorious, retaining his championship with a time of 8:43. It's clear that Crews has a long way to go before he can be considered a legitimate contender for the gold, but he showed plenty of heart in defeat.

Dean Ambrose was up next, as he took on Luke Harper in a singles match. In a bout that saw both men trade blows and near-falls galore, Ambrose managed to escape with the win, clocking in at 7:42.

And then, of course, there was the main event – AJ Styles' WWE Championship match against James Ellsworth. Despite being a significant underdog, Ellsworth gave it his all and held his own against the champion for much of the bout. In the end, however, Styles' superior athleticism and ring generalship allowed him to secure the win in just 45 seconds.

But perhaps the most surprising result of the evening came in the WWE Title #1 Contendership match between Baron Corbin and Dolph Ziggler. The two men engaged in a hard-hitting contest that saw both men trading near-falls and giving it their all. In the end, however, Corbin managed to secure a double count-out victory, earning himself a shot at the WWE Championship in the process.

All in all, WWA Holiday Havoc was a show that had something for everyone – from the quick victories of La Luchadora and Mojo Rawley to the hard-hitting matches featuring The Miz, Dean Ambrose, and Baron Corbin. And of course, AJ Styles' title triumph will be remembered as one of the highlights of the evening. Here's hoping that WWA returns to Detroit soon!
