SURVIVOR SERIES SMACKDOWN

Live from the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Michigan, World Wrestling Entertainment presented its annual Survivor Series extravaganza before a sold-out crowd of 15,000 fans on November 27th, 2005.

PRE-SHOW MATCHES

Before the main event, WWE's resident authority figure, Teddy Long, kicked off the evening by defeating Eric Bischoff in a surprisingly competitive singles match. The veteran referee-turned-superstar showcased his agility and cunning to secure a pinfall victory in just 5 minutes and 18 seconds.

WOMEN'S TITLE MATCH

Next up, Trish Stratus put her WWE Women's Title on the line against Melina. In a match that was more about showcasing the athleticism of both competitors than storytelling, Stratus used her patented Stratusfaction to secure the victory in just 6 minutes and 35 seconds.

LAST MAN STANDING MATCH

In one of the most anticipated matches of the evening, Triple H clashed with the Nature Boy Ric Flair in a Last Man Standing Match. The two legends traded blows and near-falls for nearly 27 minutes before "The Game" finally emerged victorious. A series of vicious suplexes and a Pedigree left Flair unable to answer the referee's count, giving Triple H the win.

WWE UNITED STATES TITLE BEST OF SEVEN SERIES MATCH #1

Booker T kicked off his Best of Seven Series for the WWE United States Title against Chris Benoit. The match featured some excellent technical grappling and a few near-falls before Booker T caught Benoit with a roll-up to secure the win in 14 minutes and 21 seconds.

WWE TITLE MATCH

In the main event, John Cena put his WWE Championship on the line against Kurt Angle, with Daivari serving as special referee. The match was marked by a series of near-falls, including an impressive sequence where both men kicked out of simultaneous pin attempts. In the end, Cena managed to retain his title, using his patented Attitude Adjustment to secure the win in 13 minutes and 50 seconds.

SURVIVOR SERIES ELIMINATION MATCH

The evening's main event saw Team SmackDown (Batista, John Bradshaw Layfield, Lashley, Randy Orton, and Rey Mysterio) take on Team RAW (Carlito, Chris Masters, Kane, Shawn Michaels, and The Big Show). In a match that was more about establishing the dominance of one team over another than storytelling, SmackDown emerged victorious when Batista delivered a Tombstone Piledriver to Kane, eliminating him. The final score saw SmackDown emerge with 5 eliminations, while RAW managed only 4.

As the dust settled on this year's Survivor Series, it was clear that WWE had delivered an event for the ages. With some excellent match quality and a few surprises along the way, the evening will be remembered as one of the best in recent memory.

FINAL SCORE

Team SmackDown (5): Batista, John Bradshaw Layfield, Lashley, Randy Orton, and Rey Mysterio Team RAW (4): Carlito, Chris Masters, Kane, Shawn Michaels, and The Big Show
