The WWE's latest Pay-Per-View event, Backlash, brought the heat to the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois. The sold-out crowd of 17,154 fans were treated to a night of thrilling matches and unforgettable moments.
Match 1: Six-Man Tag Team Match The X-Factor (Albert, Justin Credible, and X-Pac) took on The Dudley Boyz (Bubba Ray Dudley, D-Von Dudley, and Spike Dudley). In a chaotic match that saw plenty of high-flying action and chair shots galore, The X-Factor emerged victorious in 8:00 minutes.
Match 2: WWE Hardcore Title Match Rhyno faced Raven for the WWE Hardcore Championship. The intense match saw Rhyno deliver a thunderous gore to secure the pin and retain his title in just 8:11 minutes.
Match 3: Duchess of Queensbury Match William Regal clashed with Chris Jericho in a unique, old-fashioned bout. Regal's cunning and technical skills allowed him to outmaneuver Jericho, securing the win in 12:34 minutes.
Match 4: Ultimate Submission Match Chris Benoit faced Kurt Angle in an intense submission match. The two competitors pushed each other to their limits, but it was Benoit who managed to force Angle to tap out in a grueling 31:33 minutes.
Match 5: Last Man Standing Match Shane McMahon battled The Big Show in a brutal Last Man Standing match. Despite the massive size difference, McMahon managed to stay one step ahead of the giant, ultimately sending him crashing through the announcer's table to secure the win in 11:55 minutes.
Match 6: WWE European Title Triple Threat Match Matt Hardy faced Christian and Eddie Guerrero for the WWE European Championship. The fast-paced match saw all three competitors trading near-falls and high-impact moves before Hardy emerged victorious, pinning both opponents simultaneously in just 6:37 minutes.
Main Event: WWE Intercontinental Title Tag Team Match The Two-Man Power Trip (Steve Austin and Triple H) took on The Brothers of Destruction (Undertaker and Kane) for the WWE Intercontinental Championship. In a hard-hitting match that saw all four competitors give it their all, Austin and Triple H managed to retain their title in an action-packed 14:30 minutes.
