WRESTLE FURY DELIVERS INDIANAPOLIS THRILLER

The Market Square Arena was electric on October 20th as World Wrestling Entertainment brought the heat to the Hoosier state with Wrestle Fury '96. A packed house of 9,649 fans witnessed a night of action-packed matches that will be etched in their memories for a long time.

The evening kicked off with the Free For All Match pitting The Stalker against Justin Bradshaw. In a battle of brawn, The Stalker emerged victorious, pinning Bradshaw after a crushing clothesline to secure the win (20:00).

Next up was Steve Austin, looking to make a statement in his singles match against Hunter Hearst Helmsley. Austin proved why he's considered one of the toughest sons of guns in the WWF, using his patented beer-bashing tactics to outmaneuver Helmsley and claim victory (15:30).

The tag team action was just as intense, with Owen Hart and The British Bulldog facing off against The Smoking Gunns for the WWF World Tag Team Titles. In a thrilling contest that saw both teams exchange near-falls, the duo of Hart and Bulldog managed to retain their titles by pinning Bart Gunn (9:17).

Marc Mero was looking to make a statement in his WWE Intercontinental Title defense against Goldust. However, it was Goldust who came up short, as Mero used his technical prowess to submit him with the "Mero-Tonic" (11:38).

The main event of the evening saw Sycho Sid face off against Vader for the right to challenge Shawn Michaels for the WWE Championship. In a hard-hitting match that saw both men trading blows and near-falls, Sycho Sid managed to emerge victorious, pinning Vader after a vicious powerbomb to earn himself a shot at the title (8:00).

But the match of the night belonged to The Undertaker and Mankind in their Buried Alive Match. This one was a war from start to finish, with both men using every trick in the book to try and gain an advantage. In the end, it was The Undertaker who managed to cover Mankind, literally burying him alive under a pile of dirt (18:25).

All in all, Wrestle Fury '96 was an unforgettable night for wrestling fans in Indianapolis. With six matches that delivered on their promises of high-flying action and hard-hitting drama, this event is sure to be remembered as one of the best in WWF history.
