Al Green
Al Green, known to wrestling fans as the Bounty Hunter and The Punisher, left an indelible mark on the sport before his untimely passing in 2013. This behemoth of a man stood at 6'4" and weighed in at a formidable 280 pounds, making him a force to be reckoned with in the ring.
Born Alfred Dobalo in Tampa, Florida in 1955, Green's introduction to professional wrestling came in 1989. It wasn't long before he carved out a reputation as a powerhouse, using his size and strength to dominate opponents. His signature move, the Dog Pound, left many of his foes reeling.
Green's career took him across multiple promotions, including World Championship Wrestling, Extreme Championship Wrestling, All Japan Pro Wrestling, National Wrestling Alliance, and Catch Wrestling Association. He held the OVW Southern Tag Team Championship title at one point, a testament to his prowess as a tag team competitor.
Despite his rugged persona, Green was known for being a gentle giant outside of the ring. His kindness and generosity earned him the respect of colleagues and fans alike. As he entered the twilight of his career, Green continued to lace up his boots, competing in matches until his final bout in 2007.
Tragically, Green's life was cut short by chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) on June 14, 2013. His legacy, however, lives on through the countless fans who were inspired by his toughness and tenacity. Al Green may be gone, but the memory of The Punisher remains, a reminder of the impact one man can have in the world of professional wrestling.
