Bam Bam Bigelow

The Beast from the East

Asbury Park, New Jersey was never the same after Bam Bam Bigelow came crashing into town. At least, that's what fans would tell you if they could get a word in edgewise around Scott Charles Bigelow, aka Crusher Bam Bam Bigelow, aka... well, you get it.

Born in 1961, Bigelow was the kind of kid who made his presence known – and not just because of his towering 6'4" frame. This behemoth of a man would go on to tip the scales at a whopping 390 pounds, making him one of the most dominant forces in professional wrestling.

But don't get it twisted: Bigelow wasn't just some hulking brute who relied on pure strength to get by. Oh no. This was a powerhouse with finesse – a master of the ring, capable of unleashing devastating moves like the Diving Headbutt and Moonsault. And when he wasn't busy slamming opponents into oblivion, Bigelow loved nothing more than showing off his signature "Greetings From Asbury Park" taunt.

As his legend grew, so did the nicknames. "The Beast from the East" was just one of many monikers that stuck – a testament to Bigelow's raw energy and unbridled enthusiasm. And yet, despite being a force to be reckoned with inside those ropes, Bigelow remained surprisingly down-to-earth.

His real name may have been Scott Charles Bigelow, but to fans, he'll always be Crusher Bam Bam Bigelow – a hero from the Jersey Shore who left an indelible mark on the world of professional wrestling. When he finally hung up his boots in 2006, it was with the kind of quiet dignity that only a true legend could muster.

So here's to Bam Bam: a man who, for better or worse, will always be remembered as one heck of a ride.
