Doug Furnas
Doug Furnas was a force to be reckoned with in the world of professional wrestling. Born on December 9th, 1959, this Oklahoma native brought a unique blend of technical prowess and powerhouse strength to the ring.
At 5'11" and weighing in at 243 pounds, Furnas was an imposing figure, but it was his wrestling style that truly set him apart. With a background in Gewichtheben (weightlifting) and football, he translated his athletic skills into devastating moves like the Frankensteiner, Canadian Backbreaker, German Suplex, and Dropkick.
As part of the Can-Am Express II tag team, Furnas traveled the world, leaving a trail of defeated opponents in his wake. His reputation as a technician and powerhouse earned him respect from fans and fellow wrestlers alike.
But Furnas' legacy extends beyond his impressive in-ring performances. He was an ambassador for the sport, using his platform to promote the value of hard work, dedication, and perseverance.
