Jon Ryan

The Bad Boy of British Wrestling

You know what's weird? Watching Jon Ryan work over some poor sap's knee with his signature piledriver move, and you can't help but think he looks like the kid who got kicked out of your high school gym class. I mean, this guy's 218 pounds dripping wet, and his hair's always sticking up in that "I just rolled out of bed and stumbled to the ring" kind of way.

But don't let that fool you. Jon Ryan is a technician's technician – he's got the skills to pay the bills, and then some. He's been doing this since 1998, when most of us were still trying to figure out how to use our Game Boys without breaking them in half.

Westside Xtreme Wrestling, Combat Zone Wrestling, PROGRESS Wrestling, and even National Wrestling Alliance have all had the pleasure (or displeasure, depending on who you ask) of hosting Jon Ryan's unique brand of wrestling. And let me tell you, he's got some hardware to show for it – that DMDU Tag Team Championship and PWF Light Heavyweight Championship aren't going anywhere anytime soon.

Now, I'm not saying Jon Ryan's the most charismatic guy in the world (although, let's be real, his "Bad Boy of British Wrestling" nickname is pretty solid). But when he's got his hands wrapped around your head and that piledriver is coming... well, you're just going to have to hope for a quick tap or a referee's intervention.

So here's to Jon Ryan – the guy who'll keep on keeping on, even when the rest of us are content to spend our Saturday nights playing video games and eating Cheetos. He's the real deal, folks, and if you ever get the chance to see him work... well, don't miss it. Trust me on this one.
