Ron Simmons
Ron Simmons, aka Faarooq, was a force to be reckoned with in the world of professional wrestling. Born in Perry, Georgia in 1958, Simmons stood tall at 6'2" and tipped the scales at 270 pounds, making him an imposing figure in the ring. Before donning the spandex, Simmons had a brief stint as a football player, but it was clear that his true calling was to body-slam his way through the wrestling world.
The Early YearsSimmons began his professional wrestling career in the late 1980s, working the independent circuit under various ring names, including Doom #1. It wasn't until he joined World Championship Wrestling (WCW) in the early 1990s that Simmons truly found his groove, adopting the moniker Faarooq Asad.
The DominatorAs Faarooq, Simmons brought a level of intensity and power to the ring that few could match. His arsenal included signature moves like The Dominator, Seminole Slam, Spinebuster, Powerbomb, and Running Shoulderblock – all delivered with precision and purpose.
