Soma Takao
Tokyo, Japan - For fans of Japanese professional wrestling, Soma Takao is a household name. Known to the masses as "Unagi Mask", this 5 ft 8 in tall technician has been making waves in the industry with his impressive technical skills and charismatic personality.
Born on August 4th, 1988, Takao began his journey into the world of professional wrestling at a young age. He started training in 2009, and by the end of that year, he had already stepped into the ring for the first time.
Takao's early years were spent honing his craft, working with various promotions such as Pro Wrestling NOAH, All Japan Pro Wrestling, and Dragongate Japan Pro-Wrestling. It was during this period that he developed his signature moves, including the Reverse Gory Special Bomb, Gin & Tonic (Over The Shoulder Back-to-Belly Piledriver), Schwein, Certified Endless Waltz, Perfect Driver, Mad Splash, and Diving Guillotine Drop.
In 2017, Takao made the move to DDT Pro Wrestling, where he has since become a mainstay of the promotion. It was during his time in DDT that he captured the coveted DDT Iron Man Heavy Metal Championship, as well as the KO-D Tag Team Championship alongside his tag team partner.
Takao's accomplishments don't stop there, however. In 2019, he won the AJPW World Junior Heavyweight Championship, further solidifying his reputation as one of Japan's top young wrestlers.
