Great Kabuki
Great Kabuki was born on September 8, 1948, in Nobeoka, Miyazaki, Japan. As a young boy, he was fascinated by the art of wrestling, watching matches from the sidelines with wide eyes and a beating heart. Little did anyone know that this quiet kid would grow up to become one of the most enigmatic figures in the world of professional wrestling.
Kabuki's journey began on November 24, 1965, when he stepped into the ring for his first match. He was just 17 years old then, with a wiry physique and a fiery spirit. Over the next few years, he honed his skills under the guidance of seasoned wrestlers, perfecting his technique and developing a unique style that would set him apart from the rest.
As Kabuki's reputation grew, so did his array of ring names – Mr. Sato, Devil Sato, Yoshino Sato, Akihisa Takachiho, Professor Takachiho, Takachiho, Hito Tojo, and Mr. Kiyomoto, among others. The Later YearsAs Kabuki entered his 70s, he continued to wrestle, albeit at a slower pace. In December 2017, he officially retired, his legacy forever etched in the annals of professional wrestling history.
Throughout his illustrious career, Kabuki accumulated an impressive array of titles: NWA Television Championship, AJPW World Tag Team Championship, ROH World Tag Team Championship, All Asia Tag Team Championship, and more. His signature moves – Nerve Hold, Thrust Kick, Uppercut, Fist Drop, Oriental Claw – became synonymous with his inimitable style.
