Tim White
Timothy Rhys White, better known as Tim White, was born on March 25th, 1954, in Cumberland, Rhode Island. Little did anyone know that this young man would go on to make a name for himself in the world of professional wrestling.
White's journey began in the early 1980s when he started training with renowned wrestler and trainer, AWA Hall of Famer, Verne Gagne. White's raw talent and dedication quickly earned him a spot in the American Wrestling Association (AWA) where he took on the ring name Tim White.
As a heel, White was known for his cunning and ruthless tactics inside the ring. His ability to connect with the crowd as the bad guy earned him a loyal following of fans who loved to hate him. White's feuds with notable wrestlers like Larry Zbyszko and Verne Gagne himself made him a household name in the AWA.
But despite his success, White struggled with personal demons, including a dependency on painkillers and injuries that plagued his career. In 1992, White announced his retirement from professional wrestling at the age of 38.
In the years following his retirement, White kept a low profile, making sporadic appearances in independent promotions. His legacy as one of the AWA's most popular villains was cemented when he was inducted into the Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2003.
Today, Tim White may no longer be wrestling, but his impact on the sport is still felt. His story serves as a reminder that even the greatest wrestlers can fall victim to their own demons and that redemption can come from within.
